Southern Utah University invites applications for Athletics Marketing Intern. This is an hourly part-time position to start 7/1/2017. Salary is $11.00 per hour; this position does not qualify for benefits.
The Athletics Marketing Intern will assist in the marketing operations of the SUU Athletic Department, with a focus on operational support, enhancing the game day atmosphere, and increasing attendance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Lead the marketing initiatives for select sports, including: a. Preparing the promotions schedule for home events b. Scheduling national anthem performers and in-game entertainment c. Collaborating with coaches to identify and implement grassroots marketing activities d. Designing promotional graphics for use in email marketing, digital and social media platforms e. Directing game entertainment by producing game scripts, assembling music playlists and managing marketing displays 2. Support the marketing, ticket sales and fan entertainment strategies for the Southern Utah football, gymnastics, men’s basketball and women’s basketball programs 3. Assist with the management of key marketing platforms such as rewards programs and student fan clubs 4. Utilize official social media outlets to engage fans by delivering entertaining and informative content 5. Assist with the management of the student internship program 6. Coordinate the fulfillment of sponsorship, development, ticketing and merchandise needs to help maximize all revenue sources 7. Cultivate relationships with campus and community organizations to increase local support of all SUU athletic programs 8. Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree required 2. Demonstrated knowledge and use of computer based applications. 3. Experience with graphic design 4. Experience with creating and managing game scripts 5. Experience with the planning and execution of marketing events. 6. Experience with InDesign and Photoshop software 7. Good human relation and organizational skills; desire to be creative and grow with a rapidly changing and developing athletic program. 8. Ability to work well with public, administration and students. 9. Knowledge of and commitment to NCAA rules.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Customer service and/or marketing experience preferred.
