Posting Summary: The University of Virginia's Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy seeks a Director of Communications and Marketing to develop, implement, and assess a communications and marketing strategy that articulates and advances the School's mission and activities to key audiences. Reporting to the Director of Outreach and Engagement, the Director will lead consistent messaging, integrated approaches, and innovative strategies in increasing the visibility and impact of the School, and serve as the lead communications and marketing liaison with contacts both within and outside the University.

Preferred Specific Experience: Specific leadership experience in a marketing and communications role in higher education, government, or a non-profit organization.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to lead and execute a broad range of communications functions. Ability to strategically plan communications activities. Ability to mentor other professionals. Demonstrated knowledge of specific areas of communications subject matter expertise. Ability to synthesize information, provide advice, and address needs independently. Proven knowledge of print and web publications, media relations, and market research. Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication in daily interactions. Proven ability to clearly articulate specific information relative to communications processes and strategy. Ability to present information in multiple forums to a range of audiences.
Required Computer Applications: Microsoft Office suite. Familiarity with the Adobe suite of applications. Experience legeraging social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) as part of a comprehensive media strategy.
