The Director is a senior administrator who reports to the Head of School, working to support and implement the strategic marketing endeavors in accordance with the mission of the school and the strategic plan. This position oversees a team of four skill-based individuals to support both strategic marketing and communications efforts, as well as day-to-day marketing and communications endeavors to promote the Academy and achieve its strategic goals.
Develop and manage a team of skill-based roles to market the Academy
Develop and oversee the implementation of strategic marketing campaigns and communications endeavors to support and enhance the visibility and public perception of the Academy and ensure long-term success of school initiatives
Develop and manage the school’s marketing and communications plan, overseeing all projects and initiatives
Position the school as a leader in education and develop thought leadership opportunities for key individuals to further the school’s reputation and reach
Develop and implement inbound marketing strategies, coordinating comprehensive campaigns to benefit enrollment objectives
Develop and implement marketing strategies for fundraising initiatives to improve participation and foster constituent relations
Develop and implement internal marketing and communications strategies to streamline efforts and maximize effectiveness
Develop and manage projects that support other school objectives to benefit academics, athletics, arts, bookstore, and other programs and departments as needed
Understand user behavior of all constituents and work to develop programs and initiatives that improve the customer experience
Serve as the Editor in Chief of the magazine, carrying out the set strategies and overseeing production of “1794” which is published three times a year
Develop crisis communications plans and educate others on procedures. Serve as point person with all crisis communications, sit on the crisis response team, and serve as one of five crisis team managers
Ensure clear and transparent communication between and amongst all constituencies
Bachelor’s & master’s degrees in English, marketing, communications or related field
Minimum of 10 years experience, preferably in independent school environments
Strong understanding of current marketing concepts, strategy and best practice, including inbound marketing and both print and digital marketing strategies
Excellent writing and editorial skills, as well as an eye for publication design
Ability to create content as well as identify and generate creative story ideas
Skilled in effective branding techniques
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate widely with various constituencies throughout the School’s community
