DIGITAL MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST, College of Arts & Sciences, Administration

The Arts & Sciences Communications Office collaborates with partners across the university to advance the strategic priorities of the dean and the college. The Digital Marketing & Communications Specialist will report to the Director of Integrated Marketing & Communications, and will implement and help manage a wide range of projects. Responsibilities include: working with academic departments and the BU web design team to manage the redesign of dozens of department websites; serving as the point person for the gathering and promotion of news about the college; producing a bi-weekly e-newsletter and the college's annual report; managing or assisting with strategic marketing projects, including undergraduate admissions communications, production of major donor fundraising materials, and promotion of graduate programs; tracking results of targeted communications using digital analytics tools; producing print publications at specific times of the year (including event materials and booklets); and other communications tasks as needed.
The ideal candidate is adaptable, highly motivated, professional, a good communicator, and an excellent writer. He or she will have a strong background in communications or marketing (including journalism, public relations, digital marketing, or other areas). Proficiency in digital communications platforms such as WordPress, MailChimp, Qualtrics, Google Analytics, and social media management tools is a plus. Must have a bachelors degree. A masters degree in marketing, public relations, or related area is preferred but not required. A background working in higher education and the ability to articulate the value of a liberal arts education are also desirable. The specialist will receive regular training and skill-building opportunities, with the goal of building greater capacity for project ownership and leadership.
