This position performs various association membership recruitment/retention, member communications, and workforce development functions .The position also requires event planning/meeting preparation and some legislative monitoring. Strong oral and written communications skills are necessary. An understanding of non-profit associations desired. Construction industry knowledge is helpful but not mandatory. Salary is DOE. POSITION TITLE: DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & Membership Services
REPORTS TO; Executive Vice President
GENERAL SCOPE OF DUTIES:
Direct the establishment, operation and continuation of chapter membership recruitment, communication, and educational services. These services are the life of the chapter. They need to be structured to enhance the overall image of the AGC of North Dakota and the construction industry of North Dakota.
MEMBERSHIP RECRUITMENT and RETENTION
Recruit new members and retention of current members
Produce necessary recruitment and retention publications
Promote an active membership committee
Produce annual membership meetings statewide
conduct door to door and phone membership sales calls
Maintain member contact to aid in the providing of needed services and member retention
Assist the Accounts Manager with dues collection
Assist with assembling monthly newsletter
Work with the chapter convention committee on annual convention
Encourage member involvement in chapter committees and functions
Assist in legislative efforts as directed by the Executive Vice President
Promote chapter seminars, conferences and administrative meetings
Organize, promote and facilitate chapter outings
Maintain close member communication on changing laws and regulations
Promote an active Workforce Development Committee
Monitor member workforce needs
Work with the ND Board of Vocational and Technical Education
Promote the career opportunities in construction to high school and technical school students and counselors
Maintain Chapter Publications Library
DESIRABLE SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must possess Microsoft office application (experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe).
Ability to communicate and manage social media.
Capable of effectively coordinating multiple communication, promotional and educational activities
Self-starter and working on your own initiative and able to multitask
Some knowledge of Construction industry is a plus
NORMAL WORK REQUIREMENTS:
Generally 8:00am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday (though occasionally evening meetings and overnight travel will occur)
At times longer hours may be necessary to meet member and project needs
Reliable transportation for use in job.
Valid driver’s license is mandatory
Be able to travel in state (4-6 days per month on average)
