Join us and start doing your life's best work.(sm) In close collaboration with the UnitedHealthcare regional and health plan leadership teams, this Regional Marketing Director helps shape and drive the local marketing strategies and tactics aimed at achieving net membership and profit targets for the Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota Health Plans. The Marketing Director leads all aspects of the marketing strategy and program development ensuring maximum in-market execution and impact - local advertising, local direct marketing programs, member and consumer programs, broker, provider, and customer partnerships and engagement, local sponsorships, events, etc. These programs are designed to build and promote the brand, stimulate market interest in and recognition of UnitedHealthcare, grow and retain membership and increase satisfaction amongst all constituents. As a strong and trusted partner, this person collaborates with executive-level leaders at the health plan and within marketing shared services. Primary Responsibilities:Engage with health plan leaders to understand their unique business pressures and opportunities based on local market conditions Guide the marketing work and shared services teams to develop impactful marketing strategies and programs to address issues and opportunities locally as well as across the region Lead the teams to achieve maximum operational efficiency, fiscal efficiency and growth Lead the teams to balance marketing strategic leadership and sharp execution Create close alignment and coalition-building with the leaders inside the health plan Transform the goals and objectives of the health plan into high-impact strategies and tactics that are prioritized, coordinated across UnitedHealthcare and UnitedHealth Group segments, and well executed in-market Participate on regional leadership committees to collectively determine how to achieve growth goals Work with internal leadership team to maximize their effectiveness (e.g., coaching, message development, presentation writing, internal meetings) Collaborate with the local executive teams, as well as with the respective, sales, product, network and underwriting leaders to develop marketing strategies and tactics that support delivery of the annual and long term plans Execute strategic planning for the local health plan specifically - develop full marketing plans for each relevant geography, inclusive of all audiences (broker, employer/customer, member and physician)
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher 9+ years demonstrated success in a strategic marketing role Business to Business marketing experience Demonstrated success in influencing without direct authority Proven ability to develop strategic plans based on business goals and lead cross functional teams to execution of plan tactics Demonstrated financial acumen with ability to manage vendor/partner relationship and contracts Proven ability to communicate effectively Expert ability for strategic conceptualization both at a local level and also within the framework of being a part of a national organization Ability to drive change and influence individuals at all levels of the organization; consensus buildingPreferred Qualifications:Master's degree Business to Consumer marketing experience Health plan / insurance backgroundCareers at UnitedHealthcare Employer & Individual.
