The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. We are currently seeking a Marketing and Communications Specialist for the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) in our Chicago office.
The Marketing Communication Specialist, AONE is responsible for engaging and retaining membership through the development and implementation of multi-channel marketing and communication plans meant to promote the organization and its products or services. Designs campaigns targeting specific market segments or focusing on specific products. Assists in production of email, print, online, or other forms of advertisement, and assists with special events for promotions. Analyzes marketing and promotional needs, collects data measuring the viability of new markets and assists in the creation of marketing plans. This position also assists with digital media support.
Develops and implements timely and effective marketing and communication plans and campaigns for membership recruitment and retention, promotion of AONE education, products, services and events, and other initiatives as assigned.
Develops and implements cross channel multi-media marketing and communications which includes writing content, copywriting/editing, proofing, working with graphic designer, email campaign automation and distribution, multimedia, digital, video production, print and banner ads.
Collects and analyzes data on the performance of communications or marketing campaigns. Measures effectiveness and return on investment of campaigns via tracking and reporting and makes recommendations for improvements. Generates membership recruitment and tracking/analytics reports on a variety of marketing communications initiatives.
Performs marketing and communications research, makes recommendations for improvements and assists with implementing new marketing communications related technologies and activities that enhance the member experience and contributes to member acquisition/retention strategies that contributes to overall society growth.
Promotes usage of member benefits and increases year-round engagement utilizing member online community and other tactics. Improves member experience and increases engagement by monitoring discussion posts and updates content on a regular basis with announcements and event updates.
Assists Senior Digital Marketing Specialist with social media monitoring and engagements, reporting on metrics and updating website content when needed.
Performs other related responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field.
3-5 years experience with a mminimum of 3 years of marketing and/or communications experience is required.
Experience with association membership strategies strongly preferred.
Association or non-profit experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge requirements: Knowledge of key marketing concepts; membership and engagement metrics; knowledge of AP style.
Technical requirements: Intermediate computer and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills are required. Experience with a marketing automation platform such as Real Magnet is required. Ability to learn new software and technology is required. Knowledge of basic web and graphic concepts such as image resolution, CSS etc. and experience in creating, designing and posting content to Internet and social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) required. Experience with social media marketing and planning is preferred. Experience using a content management system such as TeamSite or Drupal is preferred. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is preferred. Experience with a membership database software programs is preferred. Working knowledge of HTML and Google Analytics a plus.
